The digEplayer 5500
is the world’s first portable Audio/Video-On-Demand (VOD),
in-flight entertainment (IFE) system.
The digEplayer can hold more than 60 full-length movies,
sitcoms and 10 hours of music content available on demand
for airline passengers. Current early release movie content
comes from DreamWorks SKG, 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers
and Buena Vista (Disney).
Each unit contains a 40-gigabyte hard drive and utilizes
the latest technology for studio quality compression and
security.
The digEplayer is not only a cost-efficient means for the
airlines to provide a variety of entertainment options from
first-run movies and television shows to music videos and
destination information, but also may be the first and only
profit-generating IFE system that provides revenue from
both rentals and advertising.
