Chomerics (a division of Parker Hannifin) to distribute its Boeing Wing Access Panel Gaskets. Chomerics manufactures a complete series of knitted aluminum wire mesh gaskets approved for aircraft wing access panels.
Purpose These gaskets are designed to maintain electrical conductivity of the airframe where the metallic surface is interrupted for access to the tanks and interior wing structure. Electrical conductivity provides grounding and lightning protection.
Construction Three concentric sleeves of knitted aluminum wire are compressed to form a flat gasket of uniform thickness. Accurately spaced and grommetted bolt holes facilitate proper gasket alignment during installation.
Packaging To prevent abrasion or damage, each gasket is impregnated with a protective layer of corrosion-inhibiting Aero Shell #14 grease. Gaskets are supplied with polyethylene cover sheets in individual molded plastic trays to ensure adequate protection in transit and storage, and to aid installation.
