History
Wencor was founded in Miami in
1955 as Wencor, where it supplied seals, o-rings and gaskets,
and performed FAA-approved repairs. In 1982, Wencor moved its
operation to Utah and became known as Wencor West. In 1983, Wencor
received FAA repair station approval for its Utah location, and,
in 1989, Wencor received its first FAA-PMA authority. An in-house
machine shop for the manufacture of highly specialized items was
added in 1990. In November of 1998, Wencor received ISO 9001 certification.
Wencor has FAA-PMA authority to manufacture over 600 parts, and
is a stocking distributor of over 150,000 parts, with over 2,000
customers worldwide, including over 250 airlines. In December
of 2000 Wencor became an international company, expanding its
operation to the Netherlands, and dropped the "West"
from Wencor West. (Wencor is still often referred to as Wencor
West).
